$250 - 6.5 hour Class
Learn the basic tools and techniques of a blacksmith and make a variety of beginner projects to take home. This class focuses on learning skills that are the basis of most blacksmith work in our spacious Tempe location.
The curriculum for this class includes skills from the professional certification course and students will be able to receive credit towards professional certification.

(Two 8 hr classes)Learn proper techniques for forging, heat treating, and grinding your knife to finish, on a 3-4 inch hunting-style blade with a 4-5 inch handle. All materials provided.
Prerequisite: Introduction to Blacksmithing or equivalent experience.

$350/Person (6 people) - 8 hours
Compile and forge your own Damascus billet in a ladder pattern. This class will teach you to properly prepare, arrange, forge weld, and finish your Damascus billet so that you can finish it as the item of your choice. Each participant will leave with their own billet of beautiful ladder pattern Damascus and the skills to make Damascus on their own successfully. There are no prerequisites for this class. Beginners are welcome.

With guidance from an instructor, students will design a sculpture using bamboo-style elements, learn to make the tools required to make bamboo-style segments out of steel, and then make the sculpture they designed. At the end of the class, students will go home with their sculpture, as well as their tools to continue working at home.

Private event for 2 people. With the personal guidance of a professional blacksmith, learn the basics of forging tapers and then each makes a heart that can be linked together. Other projects can be substituted for Date Night if discussed in advance with the blacksmithing instructor. Available weekends and weekday evenings at your convenience.

This intermediate-level, day-and-a-half class is part of a series to build your blacksmithing tools!
Make a Viking-style wrapped eye axe! Based on a historical example, this axe is a great project for students who want to continue making traditional axes at home using only basic tools: forge, anvil, tongs, hammer, and drift.
Skills learned in this class include isolating, spreading, and forge welding!
Prerequisites: Introduction to Blacksmithing or Knife Fundamentals.

Come forge your own railroad spike knife with the assistance of an experienced knife maker. No prior blacksmithing experience is necessary. You will leave this experience with a beautiful blade forged by both you and the instructor.
No PreRequisites for this assisted class.

In this 1 day class, you'll learn to grind a 3-inch blade and then assemble and tune a slip joint mechanism and handle! You'll go home with your own folding pocket knife at the end of the class.

It's a great option for bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate outings, and family reunions. Learn the National Professional Blacksmith level 1 certification curriculum. This includes all the fundamental tapers, shaping and moving hot steel, beginner forge welding, and tenon joinery, and making your first hand-held tools. This class is ideal for people who want the skills required to work independently in their own professional or hobby shop.
Students who's work is within guideline parameters can earn their professional blacksmith level 1 certification.
Cotton clothes and close-toed shoes are required.

$425/Person (4 people) - Two 8 hour Sessions
Learn the foundation of almost all advanced Damascus patterning, crushed W-shapes. This class will assemble their billets and cut and stack at least 3 times. Time permitting, we will cut and stack a fourth time and turn the W billets into “explosion” pattern Damascus.
Must have either taken the introduction to Damascus steel or have Damascus project they have made on their own to show.
